The Puget Sound RTTY (radio-teletype telegraphy) Repeater Group (PSRRG) is a Washington non-profit corporation formed on November 30, 1976.  It was formed by a group of 80 meter radio-teletype operators to improve communications between themselves.  The formation of this corporation resulted in the acquisition and construction of the East Tiger Mtn communications site and construction and installation of a radio-teletype repeater on 146.10 / .70 MHz which was operated for about 10 years.  This repeater was converted to a multi-mode data repeater and then eventually removed from service when interest dropped as packet radio came on the scene.

In the meantime,  several uhf voice repeaters were experimented with at the site until such time the 444.65 Mhz. frequency was obtained.  Numerous versions of the repeater were built and used until January of 1989 when the repeater was repackaged in its current configuration. 

The repeater is supported by user donations which are used for lease costs,  surface water management,   maintenance,  telephone,  and ac power costs.
